CCM Quicklite Senior Elbow Pads Review
Out of all of the equipment, I have to most trouble changing my elbow and shin pads. Like most hockey players, I don’t really want to get rid of any of my gear. It just kinda comes with the job. That being said, the CCM Quicklite elbow pads are somewhat of an exception to the rule.
I found that I really liked the CCM Quicklites right away. I was coming from the CCM Ultra Tacks elbow pads and while they are comfortable and fit fairly well, they always seem to slip while playing. I don’t know whether it is because my arm is just a little small for them or if it is due to the construction of the pad. The Ultra Tacks elbow pad is the ‘normal’ style with the elbow cup that is long and a tricep piece attached.
The Quicklites have a different construction. There is an elbow cup with a flexible attached end on either end. One side covers your forearm and the other protects your tricep. I found that they simply sat on my arm much better. There was no fussing while playing to make sure that they stayed in place.
There is plenty of protection with the Molded HD/Zotefoam in the triceps and forearm for protection. The elbow cup gets its inspiration from old Jofa pads. So that means it comes from a great lineage and above all is comfortable. It is held in with comfortable straps and even has an antimicrobial liner to help prevent bacteria and stink.
Overall, I think that the CCM Quicklite Senior Elbow Pads ($119.99) are a great option for those who are looking for new elbow pads and value a pair that is lightweight and comfortable. They stay in place while you play and give you great protection.
Hockey Gear Review recommends the CCM Quicklite Senior Elbow Pads to all hockey players.
