Reebok 30K Hockey Gloves Review

Reebok 30K Hockey Gloves Review

Reebok recently introduced their new KFS (Kinetic Fit) glove, the 30K. It replaced the popular 11k glove. It features a anatomical fit that is designed to follow the natural movements of the hand. The 30K has a really nice lock thumb that is stiff and leaves you well protected. It moves well while you are playing. It keeps your hands cool and allows you to do what you need to do to be successful on the ice.

Design wise, I wouldn’t say that it is the best looking glove out there. But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The back of the hand has EVA foam that is exposed and vented. This increases the air flow to help cool your hand (a little skeptical as my hands where noticeably warmer than compared to other gloves) but also contributes to its unique look. The cuff is integrated with the rest of gloves for movement and fit. In the company’s pics, you will see the cuff has a lot of movement but it never really felt like to moved like that while I was wearing them. That being said, the cuff never hindered my ability to play. Actually, the more I played with the gloves, the more comfortable they became.

So what about the fit? Because it has an anatomical fit, it sits quite close to the hand for a nice snug fit. The fingers are segmented for a easy movement and ability to grip your stick. The thumb is not so stiff that your cant move it. I cant really complain about the fit of the glove or the construction really. It has all the plastics you need, mesh gussets for airflow and the best feature is the ‘floating’ cuff. It sits on top of the foam portion of the gloves. As you flex your hand, the cuff moves with you and doesn’t get stuck in place. Playing around with it, the floating cuff seemed like a really great idea. During the game, I am sure that it is doing its thing, I am not sure how much I noticed it though.

The new Reebok 30k Gloves are not cheap. They come in at $169.99 and that is pretty much at the top end of the market. If you can get past the foam piece being exposed, then you really should consider these gloves. The fit well, keep your hands cool and have a ton of protection.
Hockey Gear Reviews recommends the Reebok 30K gloves to intermediate hockey players and above.
